PMO Strategies Podcast and Speaking Guest Instructions

To help make our recording the best possible, we have some helpful tips. Remember, when you look and sound good, people are more likely to continue to tune in and stay the whole time. We will send you some promo resources from your recording that you can share with your audience.

BEFORE OUR CALL, PLEASE BE SURE TO HAVE:

ZOOM DOWNLOADED
We’ll use Zoom for the podcast or presentation recording, so if you don’t yet have it downloaded, please do so before the day of our call. You can download it for free at zoom.us.

A HIGH-QUALITY MICROPHONE
The better the sound quality, the more people will stick around to listen. If you don’t have a high-quality microphone, earphones plugged into your phone or computer work better than Bluetooth ones.

HEADPHONES
This will help you hear your sound levels and avoid an echo during the call.

VIDEO AND LIGHTING
We’ll be recording audio and video during our call. You don’t need a professional light kit but do make sure that you’re not sitting in a dark room, as parts of this recording will be used for promotional materials as well. It’s helpful if the light is in front of you or at a 45-degree angle so that your face isn’t in shadow.

A QUIET PLACE AND NO DISTRACTIONS
The sounds of life can be very distracting in a recording, so try to find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed for the whole time we’ll be doing the interview/presentation. Also, make it a space that doesn’t echo. On your bed or couch is better than the kitchen. Fabric muffles echo, so you can place pillows around your area if there is one. Please also help choose a time when there won’t be as much ambient noise. Let me know if you need to change your time to adjust for noise.

HIGH-SPEED INTERNET
Please be close to your router to have a strong signal so we can capture both audio and video. If you can be plugged into a hard line ethernet, that is best.
