Author, Speaker, Influencer
Laura Barnard has spent more than two and a half decades helping organizations deliver change — with 15 of those years in the shoes of a PMO leader inside organizations. She has worked with leaders across industries ranging from nonprofits and government to global financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies.
She founded PMO Strategies in 2013 with a singular conviction: that organizations don’t fail because of bad strategy — they fail because they can’t execute it. Her work focuses on closing that gap by helping PMOs, transformation offices, and strategy delivery teams build the operating models, capabilities, and mindsets that turn plans into measurable results.
In 2021, Laura was named Global PMO Influencer of the Year by the PMO Global Alliance — the only award of its kind in the world. Her book, The IMPACT Engine, has been called “the bible on how to run a PMO” and is used by practitioners and leaders around the world.
She also serves as President of Project Management for Change, a nonprofit connecting PM volunteers with community organizations that need delivery leadership to achieve their missions.
