THE IMPACT ENGINE • LAUNCHED SEPTEMBER 10, 2024

This workshop brings the book’s six-stage IMPACT Engine System off the page and into the PMO or transformation challenge you are facing right now.

More Trust. More Influence. Clearer Value.

LEADERSHIP TRUST
“That perspective allowed me to frame the issue at the executive level, where it immediately resonated.”
Diane
GREATER INFLUENCE

“I know exactly how to drive success quickly.”

Andrea

VISIBLE BUSINESS VALUE
“The result was incredible project throughput, measurable bottom-line IMPACT, and a leadership team finally rowing in the same direction.”
Brandy B.

You have to elevate the PMO while keeping everything moving.

You cannot pause delivery, reporting or executive requests while you improve the PMO. The work keeps coming and your team is already stretched.

The six moves help you identify what is driving the problems you can see and choose the right next move without adding more work to an overloaded team.

In two hours, you will:

01

Uncover what is really driving the problems you keep seeing.

02

Work through six practical moves for leading differently.

03

Leave knowing where to focus first and what to do next.

Change how you lead at every stage.

Each move connects to one stage of the IMPACT Engine System.

1

MINDSET

Lead with business outcomes

Move beyond taking requests and proving activity. Start with the problem leaders need solved and the value the PMO must create.

2

ASSESS

See what is really happening

Replace assumptions and surface-level symptoms with evidence, stakeholder insight and a clear view of what is getting in the way.

3

DEFINE

Define the PMO’s role and value

Clarify the right problems to solve, the outcomes that matter and how the PMO will help the organization achieve them.

4

PLAN

Build the right path forward

Create a focused, sequenced path that turns the PMO vision into progress without trying to fix everything at once.

5

DELIVER

Create visible progress with people

Engage stakeholders, lead adoption and connect the work of the PMO to outcomes leaders can recognize.

6

EVOLVE

Keep the PMO valuable and relevant

Measure what matters, learn from what is working and adapt as the organization and its priorities change.

This is for you if you are building, elevating or rescuing a PMO or transformation team.

Laura Barnard

Author, Speaker, Influencer

Building PMOs That Deliver IMPACT.

Laura Barnard has spent more than two and a half decades helping organizations deliver change — with 15 of those years in the shoes of a PMO leader inside organizations. She has worked with leaders across industries ranging from nonprofits and government to global financial institutions and Fortune 500 companies.

She founded PMO Strategies in 2013 with a singular conviction: that organizations don’t fail because of bad strategy — they fail because they can’t execute it. Her work focuses on closing that gap by helping PMOs, transformation offices, and strategy delivery teams build the operating models, capabilities, and mindsets that turn plans into measurable results.

In 2021, Laura was named Global PMO Influencer of the Year by the PMO Global Alliance — the only award of its kind in the world. Her book, The IMPACT Engine, has been called “the bible on how to run a PMO” and is used by practitioners and leaders around the world.

She also serves as President of Project Management for Change, a nonprofit connecting PM volunteers with community organizations that need delivery leadership to achieve their missions.
